The Perelik Project

Pamporovo is about to come into its own as it forms a central part of the €200 million Perelik Project, which will connect the Smolyan lakes, Pamporovo, Perelik, one of the highest peaks in Bulgaria and the year-round resorts of Chepelare and Mechi Chal.

The project will cover an area of around 27,000 hectares, with 127km of ski piste and 30 new ski lifts. Construction began at the end of 2007, the first stage build an extra 15km of ski runs which will be completed in 2008. In addition, hotels are planned in Smolyan lakes area and the Raikovski Livadi resort village.

The Super Perelik project will have enormous influence on the future development of Pamporovo and the region. SP will be one of the landmarks of Bulgarian tourism, which has no match for its scale and future potential. Here are a few facts:

Government support and infrastructure development:

  • New electrical system
  • Improvement of the water supply
  • Modern transport system
  • Airport near Smolyan
  • Highway to Plovdiv (the second largest city in Bulgaria).

 


Tourist potential

  • The Complex will incorporate Pamporovo and the ethnographic villages in the area. This means the establishment of a unique resort, which incorporates the largest range of tourist attractions skiing, cultural tourism, wine tourism, religious tourism, etc. The investment in Super Perelik is estimated at 255 million Euros. It will be directed in building 50 ski tracks, 24 lifts and drags, covered parking lots, and development of the newest skiing infrastructure. A golf course near Smolyan is on its way too.


Investment potential

  • Pamporovo will be the center of the Complex and will serve as a function and lodging center. The prospects for the property in Pamporovo are nothing but bright  enormous capital appreciation and increased annual occupancy of the tourist facilities.
